The End

The journey home was quite easy, travelling via the M5 this time with three stops at motorway services.
Another successful CHA holiday. There is plenty to do in the area around Weymouth and it has good public transport links so it would be easy to return and do some more walking on the coastal path.
Many thanks to all those involved with the arrangements, particularly Ben who found the hotel and negotiated the deal.
Also thanks to the walks leaders and those people who accompanied me on my walks. It was much appreciated.
I can't finish this without mentioning Stuart Blaylock who has been in my thoughts throughout writing it. He was originally booked on this holiday but had to withdraw due to his illness. It is less than 12 months since Stuart, Margaret and I walked the Cotswold Way and it was with great sadness that I heard of his death on 31 May. I had received an email from him while we were in Weymouth and had replied telling him I would be doing a blog so he could see what we had been up to. Sadly he didn't get to see it. He loved literature and I feel it appropriate to add the following verse and hope that he will always be with us when we are out on a walk.

Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!
